Why I finally quit (again) Trickster Online and why I’ll probably be back… eventually

Welp, after finally getting myself a Jen set (and best of all, a freaking PET, yeah, JEN PET YEAH) and getting four Jen sprints (froze my lion during the time period the quest was up and defrosted my very special champion), I thought with a sprint I’d finally play Trickster forever and ever and be in love with it and cherish it forever. Well, it didn’t really end like that.

Powerleveling.

Yeah, that’s right. I’m stinking fed up with POWERLEVELING. Let me introduce you to the vicious cycle I’d rather stay the hell out of.

Noob joins Trickster Online, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to start their adventure as a furry blossoming trickster
Noob gets to around level 60-65 from the revamped Season 2 areas, pretty fly questing
Noob realizes no one does shit past this level and just pays for powerlevels
To make money, noob sells Myshop at an inflated rate of like 10-11mil/1k Myshop points
Noob spends galder earned on powerlevels
Noob gets 3rd job and buys more to get to like, level 170+
Noob has no idea how to play the goddamn game
Noob perpetuates powerleveling cycle and offers it themselves

This is pretty much how TO is working at the moment. Noobs either complain how hard it is to level but a lot are assimilating into the system. Many don’t understand the basic dogmas of Trickster, like OHKOs are your best friends and AoEs are lovely. Some don’t even understand the prevalence of myshop (those that complain about how this game sucks because they can’t afford to be powerleveled).

Tricked (ha ha) out my bunny before I quit. I’ll come back eventually and finish her. I mean, last I checked I (think) she had like 12k AP (too lazy to check).

If Trickster finishes Season 2 and drop rates magically increase at Swamp and up, I might come back eventually and level my cat/sheep (sheep is probably more priority since she’s under 170), but until then, bye Trickster. I’m just tired of having to buy myshop to make money to get powerleveled and if I were smart, I’d get my sheep powerleveled so SHE can powerlevel and I can make money but… with my school schedule I can’t afford to powerlevel someone for three hours so… yeah…

Apparently I suck at doing things I said I would.

As I sit in Cushing dining room… starting at my now semi-dead battery (5.5 hours of charge to 1.5 my ass), I realized I haven’t exactly touched this recently at all (and by recently I mean like 6 weeks).

Oh, and HeartGold has been EATING MY SOUL and I’ll write some really shitty reviews for the shows I’ve been watching lately (finished Seasons 1-4 of Psych and going through all of FMA FINALLY).

Gotta go to lab and spend MONEY I DON’T HAVE (more on that) on a molecular modeling set for a lab that I just don’t feel like going to.

This blog pretty much died when I got lazy/forgot after Florida, but as an angsty female gamer I figured unleashing my fury on the internet would be a good way to get through my day-by-day life.

Behold, a really wonderful introductory post

To make shit even better, I go to a women’s college. Smith, to be exact. So I’m in a sea of uteri (note: in 10th grade me and my friends had a discussion on the plural form of uterus, oh AP Bio), playing my MMOs and plotting my next console adventure. Which is mostly on hold, unless I get my hands on a DS cheap before I head back to college, or I can slowly save the money that doesn’t get eaten up by books and attempt to get a DS before Pokemon Black & White is released.

I have this terrible habit of ending entries prematurely, so I’ve had this open in a tab for two hours slowly adding to it. Writing some bullshat paper for interterm. Busting it out, pushing for win. Actually, it’s kind of terrible but I don’t need to do well so, /shrugs. Just more of a thing that needs to get done, and done by sometime tomorrow.

As of now, the MMOs I’m currently playing are World of Warcraft, La Tale, Trickster, and MapleStory. Working on City Folk for wii since my gamecube controller is MIA. Gotta get my copy of Ocarina back from my boyfriend sometime eventually. Got three weeks of semi-freedom… working 40 hours a week, but I’m home and sans homework starting the 5th, and have console access for the first time since the end of August.

For now, I leave you. So I can work on my hell paper.

Florida, part deux

We FINALLY read Orlando. Me and Hayley are really sick of cars, waiting, standing around, and being idle in general at this point. We finally get to our rooms and her mom starts complaining about how her room has an unpleasant odor. I don’t smell it, Hayley doesn’t really smell it, so we’re like seriously, what the fuck? We kind of ignore it, strip down and get our bathing suits on and go to the pool. Hayley has some issues with her top (which comes off while she’s underwater) and I make fun of her because my swimsuit makes me look like a babe and it stays on my body. We decided swimming wasn’t really going down so we head back to our room to discover that our rooms were being moved to the 7th floor. Me and Hayley ended up being literally at the end of the hallway in a creepy corner with a door at the end. Well, whatever. I kind of stopped caring.

We settle in to our new room, I unpack and Hayley doesn’t. I really wanted to unpack because I was sick of using my suitcase for literally everything. We chill out for a bit, watch some TV, then get ready to work out. I end up going on a 45 minute run on the elliptical, Hayley did 2 miles and some weights. I have a blowflex at home, and I don’t like doing weights in front of people, so I decided to stick of cardio. We finish and shower and get ready for dinner, which we just have at the hotel. I felt sooo full after eating, it was decent I guess. Some of the noodles weren’t cooked all the way but eh, what can you do I guess. We go back to the room, and both of us are upset that we don’t get wifi and it’s charged $10/computer and only runs from 1pm to 1pm, so we couldn’t be online, talk to people, anything. I ended up going to sleep soon after eating because I honestly have no capacity to stay up without a computer to entertain me.

The next day we get ready for Orlando. It was awesome, to say the least. We got to cut all the little bitches without express passes, yeahhhhhh. Best moment ever was when a like, 8 year old boy just looks at us walk by as we get ready to ride the Hulk. We basically had to wait for nothing. We went on Spiderman for Hayley’s mom because she’s obsessed with it, then moved over to the other half of the park. We went on more inside rides, like The Mummy, MIB, and The Simpsons but we also got to go on the new Hollywood Rock It, which we didn’t have to wait for somehow (no express passes). It was like closed or something and we just kind of wandered past it just as it was reopening. Waited maybe 10 minutes, maybe. And let me tell you: it was awesome.

We get back to the hotel, we get our one day of internet charged, and basically zone out. This was at like what, 2pm, 3pm? We end up chatting for hours. We both feel kind of sick so we end up ordering room service instead of going out with her parents. I felt really crappy, but Hayley really needed to work out anyway for crew camp next week so she ended up working out for like 30 minutes anyway. For the rest of the night I talk to Jarod, which is always win ha. Today we’re going to go shopping sometime after 1pm when our wifi dies. It’s going to rain today and it looks really windy and gross anyway. Remember: Need new sunglasses and wallet, buy lots of shirts.

Floridaaa

It’s been a long, long week for many more reasons than one. They include long car rides, the tortures of boredom, and the horrifying not-okay pain of missing someone… a lot.
Getting from Baltimore to North Carolina was not fun, I just remember hell and nothing else. Cars are uncomfortable and hell because we drove on nothing but freeway. Nothing. But. Freeway. I felt myself dying inside with every minute. Needless to say, it was very much like a glass case of emotion.
We finally reach Chapel Hill and Hayley is like “Mom… we’re going to see Duke but you booked a Hotel at Chapel Hill?” And for those unawares, Chapel Hill = University of North Carolina = Duke’s Biggest Rival. We just chilled out in the hotel (which was REALLY southern, REALLY REALLY REALLY southern). So we planned on going to Quizno’s for dinner, but we couldn’t find it. We wandered around, passed like the UNC Campus, a bunch of frats and sororities. We were going the wrong way.
So we double back, wielding the trust iPhone, only to discover that the Quizno’s is closed. What a fail, so we wandered around some more and finally settled on Panera, which is a pretty good place to settle for.
Next day was the long haul through South Carolina, which WAS ALSO HELL. It was only two freakin’ states and it was so horrifying. It was basically me and Hayley dying in the backseat wanting to shoot ourselves. We passed a sketch gas station and a billboard of the confederate flag proclaiming “Never forget…”

Yeah, we were in the South.

The first thing we do when we get to our hotel was tear off our clothes at like, 6:30 at night, put on our bathing suits, put on short shorts and flannels tied under our chests and bolted for the ocean. Yep. We then proceeded to strip and then run 100 meters into the ocean, where we froze our bodies about halfway to our knees, kinda looked at each other and knew we were all set.
We decide to head over to the hot tub to warm up, and we’re in there for like maybe 5 minutes (over 18 ftw) when this creepy old guy comes over to our hot tub, when there’s another free one, and gets in. He’s REALLY creepy. We soon left. Obviously.

I feel like I’m writing a lot, so I’ll be finishing off the final ride to Orlando and the joys of Universal Studios for later tonight. Until then <3

The joys of Saturday

Oh Saturday, how err… lovely you were. Hayley and I are woken up at like, 8am, much to our displeasure. Moving slowly, we finally end up in the truck and begin the long car ride to Maryland. Not without, of course, a little fun to pick up along the way. We stopped at the gas station in Deerfield and Hayley had to pick up an issue of Cosmopolitan, which she had a lot of fun throwing at me and making me read the articles.
I pull out my camera and start taking random pictures like I always do, only to discover my newly-charged rechargeable batteries don’t really hold their charge anymore… at all. They’re already pretty much dead. Lame.
New York was disgusting, of course, and New Jersey lived up to it’s reputation for being the Armpit of America. Delaware looked pretty chill, and next thing I knew, we were rocking in Maryland.
We’re staying in this boss hotel, with a sicknastyawesomecrazy room of win, with a flat screen HD tv and we managed to get some free Wifi. Yeah, shit’s going well. We settle into our computers for a bit and get ready to go to Sullivan’s, a boss steakhouse with awesome fillet mignon.
So me and Hayley begin walking back to our hotel, her parents behind us, them walking slow and us fast. We come up to these guys doing tricks on their bikes, and one of them screams “Hey ladiesss” and as we walk past another screams “You have a phone number?” Me and Hayley can’t help but laugh our asses off, and I’m really upset that I didn’t have a baseball bat on me.
We get back to the room finally, Hayley settles into her WoW obsession, and I decide to attempt to salvage Hayley’s school computer and I talk to Jarod. Of course, I passed out at 11:20ish, and end up in really weird sleep positions apparently…
